Pfalzgrafenstein Castle is a toll castle on the Falkenau island. Gutenfels Castle in the upper right is now a hotel.

BEST OF THE RHINE

Just up the B9 is another delightful town on the Rhine river by the name of St. Goar. After lunch and some window shopping, we stormed our first castle, Burg Rheinfels. This is the largest castle on the Rhine river. We toured this ruined castle with another local guide. Afterwards we took a river cruise back to Bacharach.
